Frequently asked questions
1. What if I receive a scratched or defective panel?
If you receive a scratched or defective panel, please take photos immediately and contact our support team via :service@aeternasol.net. We will assist you with the next steps promptly.
2. Why is the actual power output lower than 200W?
The rated 200W is based on Standard Test Conditions (STC): 1000W/m² irradiance, 25°C, and 1.5 air mass. In real use, panel angle, temperature, shading, wiring loss, and device efficiency affect output. So, actual power below 200W is normal.
3. Why is the actual output sometimes lower than 100W/200W?
The panel’s rated wattage is based on ideal lab conditions, so a lower output in real use is totally normal — your panel is working just fine!
4. Why is my solar panel under producing ?
Solar panel performance may be hindered for a number of reasons. Most commonly environmental conditions such as indirect sunlight, temperature rise, cloudy sky, and dirt and stain build up on the top glass will cause a reduced power output.
5. Why two our 200W panels in series are ideal for 60V power stations?
Each 200W panel has a Voc of about 23.06V. Two in series give around 46.12V, safely within the input range of most 60V power stations . This setup lets the MPPT controller work more efficiently for better power conversion and faster charging.
6. Can this panel be used with different solar generators or battery systems?
Yes, the 200W N-type 18BB bifacial solar panel is compatible with most popular solar generators and battery systems. It comes equipped with standard solar extension connectors, making it easy to integrate with a wide range of solar power setups.
7. What is the meaning of 12V in the product title,Why is this value different from the voltage of the solar panel?
When you open the product page, you will see a title like "xxx Watt 12 Volt Solar Panel". The "12V" here does not refer to the voltage of this solar panel (VOC or VMP), but to the fact that one xxxW solar panel is suitable for 12V system.
8. What does “12V” mean in the product title
12V” means the panel is designed for use in a 12V system with a charge controller. It does not refer to the panel’s actual output voltage.
9. Is this panel compatible with my 12V system?
Yes. It is suitable for 12V systems when used with a compatible charge controller. Please confirm your controller’s input specifications before purchasing.
10. How should I connect solar panels in my electrical circuit (series vs parallel)
Solar panels can be connected in series to increase voltage while maintaining the current of one panel. In parallel, the output current adds up, while voltage remains the same. Both can optimize power output.
11. Can I add more panels in the future?
Yes. Easily connect additional panels in series or parallel to expand your power system anytime.
12. How many solar panels do I need?
To determine how many solar panels you need, first assess your power load in Watts and capacity in Watt-hours. Size your battery bank based on minimum capacity, then decide on the number of panels needed.
13. What do I need to complete my off-grid solar power system?
A solar panel must connect to a charge controller for current regulation and a battery for power storage. Use adapter kit cables to wire the panel and controller, plus tray cables for the battery.
14. What do I need to complete my off-grid solar power system?
To set up an off-grid solar system, you need a solar panel, a charge controller to regulate current, and a battery to store power. Also, use adapter kit cables for connections and tray cables for the deep-cycle battery.
15. What does off-grid and on-grid mean ?
On-grid simply means solar power equipment (array or solar panel) is connected to the electrical grid, while off-grid refers to systems that are not connected to the grid and therefore store the generated power for later use.
16. Can this panel directly power devices or charge batteries?
No. This panel must be used with a compatible charge controller or solar generator to regulate power before charging batteries or powering devices.
17. Does it come with mounting hardware?
No, mounting hardware is not included with the panel. The panel works with most standard solar mounting systems — if you have questions about compatibility, feel free to ask us!
18. What can this solar panel power?
"100W — Phones, LED lights, fans, and portable power stations for camping and outdoor use.
200W — RV batteries, mini fridges, CPAP machines, and off-grid power systems.
400W — Home backup systems, cabins, RVs, battery banks, and larger energy storage applications."
